From Smile Thai Fusion to Smile Café: A Journey of Faith, Family, and Renewal

Updated: Jan 6

Every season of life carries its own purpose, and our journey has been shaped by growth, sacrifice, and faith.

In April of 2021, Smile Thai Fusion was born. What started as a dream became a full-service food trailer serving authentic Thai food, drinks, and desserts. It was more than a business—it was a labor of love. Rasa poured her heart into every dish, sharing flavors rooted in her Thai heritage while serving our community with care.

During this time, Rasa was also carrying something far more important—our son. She continued working through her pregnancy, a season that was both beautiful and incredibly challenging. She showed strength and dedication every day, even when it took a toll. After our son was born, our priorities shifted. As difficult as it was, we made the bittersweet decision to sell Smile Thai Fusion. It was the right choice for our family at that time, and one we remain grateful for.

Life continued to unfold in unexpected ways. After the birth of our son, we walked through a season of separation, divorce, and deep reflection. Through it all, God was working. We gave our lives fully to Jesus, and through His grace, we were reconciled, restored, and eventually remarried. What once felt broken was made new again.

As we prepared for our wedding and stepped into this renewed chapter, our home was affected by a fire on November 13, 2025. Much of what we had planned came to a sudden pause. Yet even in the midst of loss and uncertainty, God’s faithfulness was clear. We were able to have a small, intimate ceremony and were united under God’s covenant, surrounded by His peace and presence.

Today, we stand grateful—grateful for where we’ve been, grateful for where we are, and hopeful for what lies ahead. Smile Café represents a fresh start. It’s rooted in love for cooking, family, and faith, and built on the belief that God can redeem every chapter of our story.

As we move forward with a full remodel of our home and the growth of Smile Café, we do so with trust and gratitude. We give all thanks to Jesus, knowing that through Him, all things are possible. This is not just a new business—it’s a new season.
